The FA Emergency Aid Workshop

This three hour workshop offers basic advice on how to limit the effects of injury and promote recovery. 

Topics covered include mouth to mouth resuscitation, control of bleeding, dressing of wounds and minimising shock. The course is open to all with an interest in improving their emergency aid skills and is mandatory for those involved with FA Charter Standard clubs or those taking coaching, medical and refereeing qualifications. The qualification last for three years. 

The Kent County FA includes this as part of the FA Coaching Course set dates. 

If you enrol on a Coaching Course you do not need to individually enrol on this Workshop. You can however enrol on this Workshop if you wish to only complete this element.

Course Syllabus:

Theory:

  • Primary & Secondary Assessment
  • Approach to an incident 
  • Assessment of Priorities
  • Checking responsiveness 
  • Opening the airway 
  • Checking breathing 
  • Emergency Services
  • CPR
  • Recovery position (for breathing casualty)
  • Control of bleeding /Dressing of wounds
  • Plus many other conditions & scenarios that may occur around the field of play

The course is approximantly 3 hours long.
