Kent FA - developing football for everyone
Get Into Football

Support for administrators, parents & Volunteers

The Football Association and its Community Partner, McDonald’s, have launched a brand new website dedicated to the football workforce – the lifeblood of the grassroots game – as part of the ongoing Your Game campaign.

The website, www.TheFA.com/YourGame, has been created for the benefit of parents with children playing football on a regular basis, coaches, volunteers and those looking to play a role in helping to develop grassroots football across the country. What’s more, it’s been audited and accredited by Accessibility Net making it the first FA site accessible for those with visual impairments.

The website will be refreshed regularly with exciting offers and information. McDonald’s, the FA’s Community Partner since 2002, will be providing a number of competitions and exclusive experiences that can be applied for on the site, including the opportunity to have football legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Sir Geoff Hurst and Ian Rush visit clubs and teams around the country.

The site will also offer youngsters the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become a Player Escort at England’s international games at Wembley and, for clubs, free coaching equipment is being given away every month. What’s more, Manchester United’s former youth coach and McDonald’s Head of Coaching, Eric Harrison, will provide regular coaching tutorial videos – in addition to information and support for those who help clubs and leagues throughout the season, and for those looking to get involved.

The new TheFA.com/YourGame web site will feature a unique search tool that shows which clubs are looking for coaches, players or just general volunteers, throughout the country.

The FA’s Director of Football Development, Sir Trevor Brooking, commented: “There are thousands of volunteers in this country and the new website will provide essential information for anyone involved with the day-to-day running of a club. We launched our National Game Strategy in 2008 and one of our long-term objectives was to raise the bar with our football workforce and I’m confident that this new Your Game website will help us achieve our goal.”

The launch of the www.TheFA.com/YourGame web site, is part of McDonald’s ongoing commitment to improving grassroots football through its Community Partnership with The FA.

Alistair Macrow, McDonald’s Vice President of Marketing , commented, “Over the last eight years McDonald’s has enjoyed working with The FA to increase participation across every aspect of grassroots football in the UK. Looking forward, our aim is to train 30,000 coaches by 2014 and provide ongoing support for the 400,000 volunteers and 6,000 grassroots clubs. The new website will be an essential resource for the volunteers that are the lifeblood of the grassroots game and the national game as a whole.”
