Public Liability:
The cover continues to apply to our affiliated Clubs, registered Referees of the association and also ‘stand-in’ Referees. In addition Leagues can also purchase this cover.
New for Season 2011/12, the Limit of Indemnity provided will increase to £10m and the cover will automatically include the valuable player-to-player extension for Clubs. Without this extension players and clubs could be left exposed to the legal defence costs and awards arising from legal action taken by injured parties. Those costs amount on average to £25,000 and in many cases much more.

Personal Accident:
All Kent teams are required to have Personal Accident Insurance through COBRA. Adult and Youth Team can select from a wide range of benefit options as well weekly benefits for those players who are injured and are unable to carry out their usual occupation.
The entry level weekly benefit for Adult teams is £25, however it is vital that each team is aware of the importance of selecting the right level of cover as very often this doesn’t come to light until an injured player needs to make a claim. Players who are self-employed need to seriously consider opting for the higher benefit levels.
Those weekly benefits start at £25 per week and increase at each cover level. It is therefore imperative that players are involved in the decision as to which weekly benefit level is opted for by the Club Secretary as this directly affects them.
Cover is purchased when you affiliate to the Association and full details are shown on the Affiliation form however if you were to increase the weekly benefit to £50 per week, the cost per player for the whole season would be 19p per game.
